We understand that many people are concerned about the spread of the coronavirus worldwide and naturally have questions about the likelihood of the SIAM MS20 meeting being cancelled.
The conference organisers are committed to keeping conference attendees and helpers informed of the situation, and we will try to communicate our decisions and the information these are based on, in a transparent way. However, since the situation is very dynamic on a global level, with new information coming in almost every day, this is not an easy task. We will handle this unanticipated situation as best as we can with the health and safety of all participants and helpers being the highest priority.
The organisers are in close contact with the local health authorities in the Ministry of Public Health of the Basque Government and so far, the only events that have been cancelled were medical conferences in order to avoid putting healthcare professionals at risk.
At the moment, based on all the information we have, and recommendations of advisory bodies, the conference is going ahead as planned.
