FCPNLO 2018

Mathematical research in non-local operators and related jump processes has witnessed a rapid expansion over the past few years. These problems pose new challenges to both pure and applied mathematics, lying at the interface of at least three wide fields (stochastic processes, partial differential equations and functional analysis), while providing a new paradigm in scientific modelling. Applications range from sub-diffusions observed in molecular physics, anomalous transport in cell biology, to heavy-tailed and spiky distributions in the financial markets, or long-range dynamics from nano-scale to geophysical systems. This interaction between mathematics and applications is giving rise to new concepts and methods, and it will formulate new challenging mathematical problems for many years to come.
This workshop is the sixth meeting in the series of Fractional Calculus, Probability and Non-Local Operators: Applications and Recent Developments held at BCAM in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.

FCPNLO 2018 is a registered satellite meeting of ICIAM 2019, The International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics, to be held at Valencia (Spain), July 15-19, 2019 (http://iciam2019.org/).
