European funding opportunities in mathematics
- Researchers and project managers interested in exploring funding possibilities are invited to a session organized by the Strategic Mathematics Network (REM)
The Strategic Mathematics Network (REM) organizes the conference “European funding opportunities in mathematics“, which will take place at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences (ICMAT), located in Madrid, on September 30th 2019.
The activity is aimed at researchers in mathematics with an interest in exploring European funding opportunities for their research and at project managers in this field who work on funding proposals. Miguel A. Benitez (BCAM project manager) and Elena Akhmatskaya (BCAM Group Leader) will be a speakers at the event.
This is the programme of the session, which will be in Spanish:
Programme for researchers:
- 10:30 -10:45h: Welcome.
- 10:45 – 11:30h: Opportunities for mathematics and mathematicians in the Framework Programme.
- 12:00 – 13:00h: Practical aspects of writing and presenting European proposals for projects in mathematics: impact, programming, communication and open science.
- 13:00 – 14:00h: Round table: Strategy for the future of Spanish mathematics in the European context.
Programme for managers:
- 15:00 – 18:00: Workshop for managers of mathematical research. Diverse topics will be dealt with on the specificities of mathematics on the preparation of proposals and the management of researchers.
To attend the event it is necessary to register by e-mail contacting mgarcia155@us.es (María del Mar García Lazo, REM administrative manager). Researchers affiliated to a public education center, the CRM or BCAM, who wish to attend, may apply for funding to cover travel expenses to Madrid until the available funds are exhausted. In case of applying for travel financing, an estimated budget of the cost must be attached.
