Dae-Jin Lee and Lore Zumeta participate in First Lego League
- In the talk they gave, they explained the project for the prevention of injuries in football players that they are working on
Dae-Jin Lee, leader of the Applied Statistics research line, and Lore Zumeta, PhD student, participate in the talks of FIRST LEGO League Euskadi, an initiative organised by Innobasque.
This year the FLL Euskadi challenge that the participating teams have to face through an innovative solution focuses on sport: REPLAY/PLAYMAKERS: reinventing the game and sport.
As in previous editions, the initiative begins with talks given by experts, which serve as inspiration for the participants to be able to work on their innovation projects. On behalf of the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics – BCAM, Dae-Jin Lee and Lore Zumeta were in charge of giving the talk “Mathematics for the prevention of injuries in football” where they explained challenges in Welness, Health and Sports from a mathematical research perspective within the framework of the collaboration agreement between BCAM and Athletic Club.
As in previous years, BCAM wanted to take part in this initiative with the aim of giving visibility to STEM careers and bringing the world of mathematics closer to the young people taking part in the challenge.
