Earlier in his career, Mazuelas had worked there as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Associate.
LIDS is an interdepartmental research center, located in Massachusetts (USA), working on research and education in the analytical information and decision sciences. Specifically, in Systems and control, Communications and networks and Inference and statistical data processing. In fact, LIDS will be one of the departments taking part in the new Artificial Intelligence college The Massachusetts Institute of Technology just announced. This institution, called the M.I.T. Stephen A. Schwarzman College of Computing that will focus on preparing students to develop, and consider, the implications of artificial intelligence.
Santiago Mazuelas received his PhD in Mathematics and PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Valladolid (Spain) in 2009 and 2011, respectively. Since 2017 he has been a researcher at BCAM – Basque Center for Applied Mathematics where he’s part of the Data Science group. Concretely, he works at the Machine Learning research line. In April he was awarded with the 2018 IEEE ComSoc RCC Early Achievement Award and he recently received one of the Leonardo Scholarship’s given by the BBVA Foundation to support researchers and cultural creators with a highly innovative scientific, technological or cultural production.
